Over the Road Trucking – Short or long haul, van, flatbed, reefer, step deck – you name it, Tarpon can arrange it and make it happen. There really is no secret to how we do it – we hire the best carriers, insist on constant communication and high quality service while providing it to you at a competitive rate. Nobody will follow up on your OTR loads like Tarpon does!
Intermodal – The term ‘intermodal’ means ‘more than one mode of transportation’, and is usually accomplished by use of containers. While containers (or ‘boxes’ as they are commonly referred) have revolutionized the transportation industry (making globalization possible), there are significant differences between moving freight in a container vs. standard OTR modes (van, flatbed, etc.).
Here at Tarpon, we understand how to move freight via containers. We work with the railroads to move both Domestic (48’ & 53’) and International (20’, 40’ & 45’) containers. We can move your freight to and from the port in the most efficient way possible. The key to successful Intermodal transportation is the transition from one mode to another, and the coordination between these actions is where Tarpon excels.
Transloading / Warehousing – Our network of warehousing partners throughout North America is a key component of our success. Transloading refers to moving product from one mode of transportation to another (container to van or rail to van, for example) and is a key to many Intermodal moves. Short and long term warehousing of product (and distribution coordination) is another option we offer so that you can concentrate on what you do best while we make sure your customers get the service they demand.
